Our Chapter community service involved purchasing and painting "Memory Boxes" for the Parent Bereavement Program. This is a service our chapter selected because it is such a worthy program. The chapter's fundraisers help pay for the boxes which are painted by the members. The members use their own creative ideas and designs and paint these boxes. Below you will find some pictures of the memory boxes and some wonderful feedback by some of the hospital personnel that have received them.

Dear Artists: Just wanted to thank you for the recent shipment of bereavment memory boxes sent for our unit. They are a wonderful addition to our Bereavement Program. The families treasure the personal touch displayed by your beautiful artwork. God has blessed you with a wonderful gift. Thanks for sharing it with His children.

Director of Family Unit

Dearest Artist: Our sincere love and thanks for your labors of love. It is a small but a thoughtful way for us to share concern for all mothers and families during time of grief of their infants loss. We thank you for giving these beautiful boxes to hold baby's belongings. It is a keepsake treasured forever. Sincerely, Cindy Creel, RN, and our Maternal Child Staff of Lakeview

Dear Miss-Lou Chapter, Thank you for the memory boxes. There is so little we can do to comfort families when they have lost an infant. Your memory boxes will go a long way towards a measure of comfort for our families. I also want to share with you that our staff was very impressed with the "boxes". Thank you very much.
